Ginger Biscuits

Ginger Biscuits

Mix together in a bowl, 1 cup sugar, 1 tablespoon ground ginger, 1 tablespoon bicarb soda, 1 teaspoon mixed spice, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 4 tablespoons cold water.  Stir together.  

In a saucepan bring to boiling point 1 cup golden syrup and 6 tablespoons of butter.  Add this mixture to above prepared ingredients and stir in 5 cups plain flour.

Roll mixture into balls and press down with bottom of a glass.

Bake in a moderate oven until crunchy.
